In the iPhone 5 presentation conference, Apple demonstrated how the iPhone 5 will look in the hands of users, and the image above should be quite conclusive. The image is of course modified in Photoshop, but it should present as faithfully as possible the way you will use the terminal, which is only 8.6 mm taller than the iPhone 4S.
