The iPhone is as secure as BlackBerry devices according to technology industry leaders

For some time, the iPhone has come to the attention of many companies and government agencies that have chosen to replace BlackBerry terminals with those of Apple. The leaders of some large American companies have noticed in recent years a significant improvement in the level of security offered by iOS, and this leads them not only to let their employees access the mobile internet platforms through iPhones/iPads, but also leads them to purchase them iDevices.

John Turner, IT director at accountancy network BDO LLP, said that after years of being a BlackBerry shop he could no longer see any reason not to let his 2,500 staff use Apple iPhones at work. "The differentiation in the corporate world used to be security, but that has been significantly eroded to the point where it's gone away now," said Turner at a roundtable event organized by disaster recovery specialist Sungard Availability Services. "I've satisfied myself that Apple is there or thereabouts [when it comes to corporate security], I think that Apple has caught RIM up."

At the conference to present the iPhone 5 and iOS 6, Tim Cook stated that over 90% of Fotune 500 companies are testing iDevices with their own employees, and this only confirms the fact that the platform is becoming more and more interesting for the corporate environment.
