Apple still demands 707 million dollars from Samsung after last month's victory

In August, Apple won an extremely important victory against those from Samsung in a trial that took place in the USA. An American jury won the Apple case, forcing Samsung to pay $1.05 billion for infringing Apple's patents. For now, that amount has not reached Apple, the appeal of Samsung and Apple is still being judged still ask 707 million dollars in addition to the 1.05 million offered by the jury.

In a motion filed late Friday US time, Apple sought a further $400 million damage award for design infringement by Samsung; $135 million for willful infringement of its utility patents; $121 million in additional damages based on Samsung's product sales not covered in the jury's deliberation; and $50 million of prejudgment interest on damages through December 31. The requests together come to $707 million.

Splitting the $707 million, Apple is asking for $121 million based on the number of products sold that was not considered by the jury, $50 million in interest on damages, $135 million for bad faith infringement utility patents and 400 million dollars for the infringement of intellectual property patents. In total, the amount of 707 million dollars would raise Samsung's expenses to almost 1.8 billion dollars, but it remains to be seen if any court will agree with Apple.
