The Chinese are still struggling to clone the new Lightning cable

The other day I told you that nothe Lightning cable for iPhone 5 is specially made not to be reproduced by third-party manufacturers of accessories for iDevices and the strategy of those from Apple seems to be successful for now. In China, several manufacturers are trying to reproduce the functionality of this cable, however so far they have not succeeded and a person who analyzed it says that if by Christmas we will have third-party cables that will charge iPhone 5, then we should be happy. The main problem is the chip inside the cable, a chip that dynamically rearranges the pins and authenticates the accessory as being made for the iPhone 5, and so far the Chinese have not succeeded in cloning what Apple did.

For me, the biggest problem is that I can't buy a case with an external battery that I can attach to the iPhone when needed, but I think that at some point Apple will allow its partners to produce accessories for the iPhone 5. Until then cloners are losing a lot of money because of Apple's decision, but I assume that sooner or later they will find a method to reproduce the functionality of the cables.
