Google StreetView will be available in the mobile version of Google Maps

The Maps application from iOS 5 gave us the opportunity to use the system Google Street View even from their own terminals, it has disappeared, but Google intends to offer the system through web version of Google Maps. The ones from the NYT claim that in about two weeks, Google will activate this function for all owners of mobile terminals, the goal being to give those on the iOS platform the opportunity to access StreetView from their own devices. Apple can't offer such functionality now and I don't think it will ever offer something like that, so Google remains the only option.

You can still use Google's maps — on the Web. visit maps.google.com and accept the offer to create a Home-screen icon for you. You won't get spoken directions, but you'll get written directions, public transportation details, live traffic reports and, of course, Google's far superior maps and data. (In two weeks, you'll be able to get Street View this way, too, says Google.) And you can install the Google Plus Local app for full access to Google's more complete database of shops and businesses.

The implementation of StreetView in the mobile version a Google Maps it would be beneficial for the millions of users who miss the function, and Google would attract to its website a part of the owners of iDevices to whom it can display advertisements without Apple's intervention. I didn't use StreetView in Romania, I don't think I will ever use it, but I'm curious if it was useful for you.
