Apple makes a mistake by launching the iOS 6 Maps application, apologizes, but how much does it matter to you?

Forced by circumstances, company Apple was "obliged" to launch in iOS 6 a Maps application based on our own map mapping system, a system in which we have data available from several manufacturers of GPS navigation solutions, as well as data from Apple. This system is nowhere near ready to be offered to the whole world, Apple knew this, but probably thought that it would not matter much for users and of course he was very wrong. For more than a week the application Maps from iOS 6 is criticized intensely by everyone, again Tim Cook apologized for the way it was launched, Apple started recommending alternatives to users si changed the lyrics for her promotion.

From my point of view, the company's attitude is correct and it is commendable that they had the courage to admit an important mistake, that they had the courage to recommend alternative solutions and that they changed the marketing texts that made the whole situation embarrassing. This does not excuse the fact that Apple launched a bad application, not very useful in most countries around the world, but the attitude taken after recognizing the mistake must be praised. For me, the steps taken by Apple matter, I understand that they care, mainly about money, about users to a certain extent and will solve the problems, and in the future they will no longer rush to launch products that are not yet ready to be distributed. That doesn't excuse them for their haste, but if they didn't say anything and continued to promote the application, they would be doing much worse.

Did Apple's attitude and Tim Cook's open letter matter in any way to you? Has it changed the way you look at the company in any way?
