QuickIM is a new application launched today in Cydia, and with its help you can simplify the process of chatting with your friends on Facebook or Google Chat. The main reason behind the development of the application was the desire to provide an environment where the Facebook/Google Chat accounts of your friends are unified in a single chat window, Go being a good example, but applying for the Messages application. QuickIM, on the other hand, offers its own interface, similar to that of the Messages application, but it allows you to quickly reply to messages or write new ones without closing the application you are using at that moment.

Using Facebook or Google chat is one of the most convenient ways to stay in touch with your friends but until now, doing so on iOS has been inconvenient to say the least – in order to carry on a conversation with apps such as Beejive and IM+ you are limited to having to switch back and forth between whatever you are working on and the respective chat application. Thanks to QuickIM this is a thing of the past! QuickIM is the first multi-protocol chat client designed specifically for jailbroken iOS devices featuring quick-reply and quick-compose. With QuickIM you no longer have to leave what you are working on to answer an IM message. You can now quickly reply to incoming messages and quickly compose new messages. QuickIM currently supports Facebook and Google Chat and will support AIM and Yahoo soon, and best of all its FREE!

QuickIM is available for free in Cydia, it will soon be compatible with AIM/Yahoo, but for now you cannot use it on iOS 5 or on the iPad tablet. Being available for free, the application allows you to replace BeejiveIM or other similar titles, but you must have a jailbroken iPhone.
