Apple wanted to give up Intel processors for Macs

Intel is currently the largest and most popular manufacturer of processors and other related products, and all Macs from the Apple company run on them. It has been rumored for quite some time that Apple intends to give up Intel in terms of providing processors for its Macs, and company employees confirm that this topic has been discussed within the company. Although Intel offers the best solutions of this kind, those from Apple could get a better profit if they chose AMD or if they made their own processors for Macs, but for now they are not able to do this.

Apple has also deliberated over moving away from Intel chips in the Macintosh, say two people familiar with these discussions. Such a shift would be difficult and isn't imminent, although it would allow Apple to further distinguish its laptops and desktops from competitors that run Intel's chips and Microsoft's Windows software.

Although discussions have taken place within the company, a possible change of processor supplier for Macs is not imminent. Apple has been using Intel processors since 2005, it will continue to use the company's processors in the coming years, but at some point we will see Macs with Axx processors thought by the company's engineers. Although at first glance the idea does not seem good, Apple is perfecting itself in terms of the production of processors and in a few years it will be able to build its own hardware.
