  Today it was officially launched in Romania Ymens, the pioneer of cloud computing services in our country. Ymens is the product of the TeamNet company, it is developed locally and is intended to be the main cloud computing solution that Romanian companies will use from now on. Being the first local cloud computing system, Ymens is built on a network of servers located in data centers in Romania and of course it is based on a locally accessible price structure. The project developers say that monthly network access subscriptions cost between €3 and €15 per user, from what I understood from the presentation conference, but in this money everything is unlimited, that is, the space accessible to each company's account has no limit and there are no limits regarding the possibility of adding users to accounts.

  The Ymens platform is built on the basis of 9 applications specially designed to cover the needs of any company, the developers of the project saying that at the moment their clients mainly use a third of them. The 9 applications thought by Ymens are:

  • Index is the solution that ensures increased productivity in all departments through unique archiving and centralized organization of documents;
  • invoice allows efficient keeping of records of invoices, avoiding slowing down the internal flow of the company;
  • Lawyer is the application through which users have immediate access, online, to the Romanian legislation and to the updated legislation of the European Union;
  • Planner it is the solution intended for the quick management of work tasks and attendance, being a real support in the daily activity of employees;
  • Correspondent it ensures permanent access to e-mails, from any device and has as its first benefit the major cost reduction compared to an application hosted on an internal server;
  • video conference, brings people from the company and business partners "face-to-face", allowing the transmission of video and audio information, the use of the instant messaging service, as well as the sharing of documents between conference participants;
  • crimp is a tool dedicated to managers and human resources managers and ensures optimal management of information specific to recruitment processes;
  • Trader it centralizes all the information related to the company's customers and details on the stage in which the execution of the sales cycle is;
  • Intranet offers all company employees a private and collaborative space that allows them quick access to the information they need by using the functions associated with each one's responsibilities.

  Ymens is also accessible from mobile terminals through an HTML web interface in which all the 9 applications above can be used, so basically open their website in Safari, access the platform and use anything from there, including the upload module files because iOS 6 will allow this, including applications that open any kind of documents directly inside the website. In the future there will also be applications for mobile terminals, but for now the emphasis is on what is available there.

  Because we live in Romania, the question naturally arises: why would a company pay money for a cloud computing service, when there are free ones? Well, those at Ymens say that paying a sum of money to use this service assures customers of data security, assures them that they have a team of people available to help them when they have problems, and assures them that they and their data are not used by the company for various purposes. Of course, the 9 applications are apparently useful, those from Ymens emphasizing the fact that a company no longer has to purchase Office-type software, for example, because the platform is capable of allowing the viewing of this kind of documents in any conditions .

  Ymens is practically a rebranding of a platform that has existed for some time, they say that they are the first to develop a cloud computing solution, of this kind, in Romania, I believe them and I believe that they will be successful, especially on the local market there are no alternatives at the moment. It is true that many companies need to be convinced that solutions of this kind are useful, but this is why there are marketing teams. It should be mentioned that this service is intended for small, medium and large companies, so not for ordinary users.
