Thousands of Foxconn employees went on strike due to the strict conditions regarding the quality that the iPhone 5 terminals must have

In the last few weeks, many people have complained about problems with the terminal iPhone 5, those from Apple carefully followed everything and imposed much stricter rules on their partners in terms of checking the quality of the terminals removed from the production lines. Apple has imposed very strict rules regarding the handling of terminal components iPhone 5, so that they are not scratched during the production process, but strict rules were also imposed regarding the assembly of the rest of the terminal parts iPhone 5. The employees complain because they are not trained to perform certain tasks, the management does not hold training sessions, and the iPhones taken off the production line do not meet the quality standards and the employees pay for them.

(New York) China Labor Watch (CLW) announced that at 1:00PM on October 5 (Beijing time), a strike occurred at Foxconn's Zhengzhou factory that, according to workers, involved three to four thousand production workers. In addition to demanding that workers work during the holiday, Foxconn raised overly strict demands on product quality without providing worker training for the corresponding skills. This led to workers turning out products that did not meet standards and ultimately put a tremendous amount of pressure on workers. Additionally, quality control inspectors fell into conflicts with workers and were beaten up multiple times by workers. Factory management turned a deaf ear to complaints about these conflicts and took no corrective measures. The result of both of these circumstances was a widespread work stoppage on the factory floor among workers and inspectors.

However, not only the employees were affected by this problem, the inspectors who check whether the produced iPhones comply with the quality standards, were repeatedly attacked by the employees and decided to go on strike after the Foxconn management members did not want to solve problems. Practically several buildings of a Foxconn factory in China they stopped production during yesterday, employees and inspectors going on strike and blocking the production lines of iPhone 5 terminals. The incidents that took place in the last days between employees and inspectors were the basis of this spontaneous protest and for now it seems that the problem has not was solved.

That quality control inspectors would also strike is of no surprise. According to workers, there was a fight between workers and quality control inspectors in area K that led to the damage in inspection room CA, the injury of some people, and the hospitalization of others. After this, another similar incident occurred in area K, once again leading to quality control inspectors getting beat up. Yesterday, inspectors in area L received physical threats. When inspectors reported these issues to factory management, the management simply ignored and turned their back on the issue. For these reasons, all day and night shift inspectors carried out a work stoppage today that paralyzed the production lines.

It is normal for Apple to demand a closer control of the terminals manufactured by Foxconn employees, for those from Foxconn the problem is complicated because many of the employees are not experienced enough to do their job, and in the end there are protests . Probably in the following months there will be other protests, and Apple will not be able to cover the demand on the market due to the fact that hundreds of iPhone 5 terminals are not produced daily at Foxconn.

The good part for us is that the future batches of iPhone 5 terminals will have all the problems solved.
