A thief uses his iPhone as a flashlight for a robbery, films the entire crime

The LED flash of the iPhone terminals is strong enough to illuminate almost as well as a flashlight, and to keep it always activated you have to activate the video recording mode, but without turning it on. A thief in the UK did not know that it is not necessary to turn on the iPhone's video mode to use it as a flashlight, commited a robbery using the device to light his way, and during this process he filmed the entire action.

Mr Jerome was arrested after trying to break into three other properties. Police then found video clips of a house in Marsh in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, which was targeted by a gang of burglars while the owners were on holiday. Property worth tens of thousands of pounds was taken. Judge Potter told Mr Jerome: 'Significantly, in my view, the camera footage of the invasion of that property was captured on your mobile phone. 'You, in my judgment, were an important member of the team that attacked that property on those occasions.'

The police suspected the thief for the robberies in 3 houses, arrested him and discovered in his phone a recording made during the robbery of one of the houses. Based on that recording, he was sentenced to almost 1 year in prison with execution, all thanks to the iPhone that was "smart" enough to record everything.
