The Lightning connector is resistant to contact with water, Apple imposes strict production rules for partners

In iPhone 5, iPad Mini si iPad 4 Apple implemented the technology lightning which allowed the reduction of the sizes of two products, and the improvement of other functionalities. The implementation of this technology forces users to change a good part of the accessories, but unfortunately Apple only recently started to certify the companies that can launch such products. If you wonder why Apple blocked the production of Lightning accessories, well I'll tell you that have been modified the guidelines based on which the factories where such accessories are built are organized, all in an attempt to protect the employees and discourage the bad treatment applied to them.

The supplier code, which has been implemented and expanded over the past few years as Apple and manufacturing partner Foxconn have come under increasing scrutiny for working conditions, currently applies only to Apple's manufacturing supply chain partners and component vendors. Pushing it out to the larger accessory ecosystem would be a concrete example of Apple using its 800-pound-gorilla status in the consumer electronics space to influence more companies to behave ethically on worker rights, environmental issues and more.

The problems with those from Foxconn motivated Apple to require its partners to respect their employees if they want a collaboration and hence we have a delay in the development of Lightning accessories, but it is done, apparently, for a noble purpose. Before I end, I will tell you that this new Lightning connector does not break if it comes into contact with water, but that does not mean that you have to submerge your iDevices in water.
