Jeff Huber, an SVP at Google, published a few minutes ago on his own Google+ account a post stating that the application Google Maps for iOS was downloaded 10 million times in just 48 hours after its release. I told you that the application was extremely well received by users and that it quickly reached the top of the most downloaded applications in the App Store, but these figures probably represent a download record for an application in the App Store.
Google Maps for iOS is developed to work natively only for iPhone/iPod Touch, it works in 2x modes on iPad and is a good alternative for iOS 6 Maps.
More than 10 million downloads in less than 48 hours after release!
