Apple intends to open a research and development center in Beijing

At the beginning of this year Tim Cook visited China and talked with high-ranking officials about various problems related to Apple, and now we find out that a new research and development center would be opened in Beijing. Tim Cook would have met on January 8 with Wang Anshun, the mayor of Beijing, and during the discussions that took place, the Apple CEO would have stated that a development and research center will soon be opened there .

- At a meeting with Beijing's acting mayor Wang Anshun on January 8, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company plans to set up an R&D center in Beijing, an unnamed insider source told Tencent Tech today.

- Cook also noted that Apple will move a certain amount of its servers for the App Store and iTunes to China in order to improve the downloading speed for users in China.

Apart from this R&D center, Apple intends to open one or more data centers that will have the role of improving the access of the Chinese to the iTunes Store and adjacent stores. Apple intends to open 25 more stores in China in the coming years, the company's plans for the Chinese market being extremely bold. Apple is extremely interested in opening as many stores as possible in China and including an R&D center, so the rumor seems plausible for now.
