Apple TV 2013 uses an A5 chip produced using a 28nm manufacturing process

In January of this year Apple has launched a new model of Apple TV, without saying too much about him from the very beginning. The world considered that the device is smaller than the old models, based on the documentation sent by Apple to the FCC, but in reality the dimensions have not changed and there are not really any important news on the hardware side. Although it was believed that Apple TV 3.2, i.e. the 2013 model, works based on a chip A5x, in reality he uses the same face A5 like its predecessor.

one difference notable is the size of the new A5 chip, which is much smaller than the one available in the old Apple TV 3.2 model. Specifically, the old A5 chip, built using a 45nm manufacturing process, is 10.09 x 12..15mm, and the new Apple TV 3.2 chip is 6 x 6mm. It is speculated that Apple would use a 28m manufacturing process for this A5 chip, but for now no one knows for sure, but since the products have started to appear in Apple stores, we will soon find out what secrets the small component hides.
