Nuance CEO confirms partnership with Apple on Siri

Crab was launched in 2011 by the Apple company and although no official data was provided regarding the system based on which the assistant recognizes voice commands, everyone credited Nuance. Well, almost 2 years after the presentation Crab, Nuance CEO Paul Ricci, confirmed partnership with Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, saying that his company is a fundamental supplier of technology for those in Cupertino. Without directly stating that the partnership exists, what Ricci said is clear enough for most users.

We're a fundamental provider for Apple.

Ricci confirmed that Siri needs Apple's servers to process information, but what we use in iDevices is used by others on other platforms. Although Apple normally demands exclusivity in the case of the use of technologies of this kind, those from Nuance offer many other manufacturers the opportunity to use the voice command recognition system that we have implemented in Siri. The confirmation right now doesn't really have that much value, but at least we know for sure what's behind Siri.
