The possible iWatch battery appears in a patent

Since the beginning of the year, there have been patents suggesting that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), could implement curved screens in its future products, patents for curved batteries appearing at a short distance in time. In a new patent from Apple is presented again the idea of curved batteries, but this time the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it does not tell us that it could bend the normal batteries used in mobile terminals, but that it could combine several battery packs in a curved shape that would fit perfectly on various products.

Apple's invention relates to flexible battery packs for use in electronic devices that overcome one or more of the drawbacks of conventional battery packs. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the flexible battery pack may include a plurality of cells, such as galvanic or photovoltaic cells. The battery pack also may include a plurality of laminated layers coupled to the cells that include a top laminated layer and a bottom laminated layer. An adhesive may be used to couple the top and bottom laminated layers together such that each of the plurality of cells is isolated from each other. This arrangement may allow the battery to be shaped to fit a form factor of the electronic device.

One of the products in which these battery packs could be used could be the iWatch that those from Cupertino would launch this year, or at the beginning of next year. If Apple decides to bring to the market a smartwatch with a curved screen, then it could also implement a curved package with included batteries, but of course we are only talking about assumptions and nothing concrete. No one knows if Apple will ever decide to launch devices with curved screens, but there are enough people interested in seeing them and products with curved glass already exist in Apple's portfolio.
