Apple could have used fingerprints to block the possibility to close the iDevices using the Power Off function, but unfortunately it did not do this.
Now anyone can close an iDevice using the Power button and the slider to close the terminal, and if a thief steals our terminal and closes it, we won't be able to find it even if we have Find My iPhone active. Well, Apple could have prevented this by implementing the need to use a fingerprint for the power off function, but unfortunately it didn't. Even so, iOS 7.0.1 or iOS 7.1 could bring such functionality, but it remains to be seen if Apple will consider it necessary.
