Microsoft Cortana – a competitor to Siri

Crab, the personal assistant from iPhone proved to be so popular around the world that many smartphone manufacturers rushed to implement similar services in their own products after the launch iPhone 4S. Two years after the debut CrabThose from Microsoft I am close to finish a named competitor Cortana, the name being taken from the Halo series, in which a fictional character that works on the basis of artificial intelligence. Although not yet ready for launch, the Cortana project is nearing completion and should be a serious competitor not only for Crab, but also for Google Now.

...an overhaul to the TellMe service is in the works under the codename 'Cortana' that should give Siri a run for its money. We have had internal debates about when to ship something. We could come out with something like them now, but it wouldn't be state of the art. It's too constrained to be an agent now. We are not shipping until we have something more revolutionary than evolutionary. There are teams working hot and heavy on this right now.

Considering that Microsoft comes again too late with a competitor for the popular systems of recognition and processing of voice commands, it would not be difficult to believe that the system will not offer the same functionality as Siri or Google Now, but is anyone still waiting for something else from microsoft?
