Mobile terminals generate over a quarter of global internet traffic, iOS remains "king"

Mobile terminals are used more and more often to access websites from all over the world, and a study recently published demonstrates the fact that 28% of internet traffic is made from mobile terminals. The figure is down by 1% without the summer months when people didn't really sit on the computer, but it is up by 10.5% compared to the same period last year. Smartphones and tablets have generated this significant increase in traffic from mobile terminals, users wanting to have access to any websites regardless of where they are.

Dividing the traffic by platform, we find that the iOS platform still has a slight advantage over the Android platform, but the difference decreases from one fiscal quarter to another. More interesting than that, is the fact that accessing the Internet using iPad tablets would have decreased by 4.1% compared to the same period last year, a slightly smaller decrease also occurring in the case of Android smartphones, but iPhones and Android tablets have experienced an increase in terms of the degree of use.

Practically, the world is starting to switch to mobile terminals for accessing the Internet, and the current percentages could double in the coming years.
