Jony Ive's modified Leica M camera sells for $1.8 million, Apple SVP helps raise $13 million for RED

I told you yesterday that during this night the charity organization RED will auction a series of products designed by the famous Apple designer, Jony Ive and a friend of his, but also other objects offered by other people/companies. Well, the auction was held last night in the USA and it turned out to be a real success, almost 13 million dollars being generated for RED by all the objects auctioned. Among those designed by Ive and Newson, the Leica M camera was sold for $1.805.000, the aluminum table was sold for $1.685.000, The red Mac Pro for $977.000, gold EarPod headphones for $461.000, and the prices of the rest of the objects you can find them here.

As you can see on the Sotheby's page, most of the products designed by the two designers had estimated prices at much lower values than the real ones, so we are talking about a major success they had in the auction. All the money will end up in the RED accounts and will be used for the fight against AIDS in developing countries, but we are definitely not talking about the last initiative of this kind, considering the enormous sums collected.
