Refused by Blackberry, Justin Bieber promotes the iPhone for free

Justin Bieber is one of the most popular and well-known artists in the world, and in an article published by Businessweek gives some details interesting in relation to the company's evolution. According to one of the people participating in the interview, Justin Bieber offered to become a brand ambassador for those from Blackberry, asking for $200.000 and 20 terminals to promote the products. Trying to convince Blackberry's marketing team to hire Bieber, the person responsible for the proposal only received a refusal from them, claiming that the popularity of the artist is fleeting and that the investment in him is not worth making.

"One thing we missed out on," Washington admitted in the new BusinessWeek report, "was that Justin Bieber wanted to represent BlackBerry. He said, 'Give me $200,000 and 20 devices, and I'm your brand ambassador,' basically. And we pitched that to marketing: Here's a Canadian kid, he grew up here, all the teeny-boppers will love that. They basically threw us out of the room. They said, 'This kid is a fad. He's not going to last.' I said at the meeting: 'This kid might outlive RIM.' Everyone laughed."

Rejected by those from Blackberry, Bieber started promoting his iPhone terminal for free, Apple not having a policy of paying for such campaigns. The same thing probably happened in other cases, many stars promoting Apple products on social networks without receiving anything from the American company and the competitors lose the most from this. You all know that Blackberry has made many bad decisions over time and this is just further proof of that, the company now needs the support of important people to keep itself in the attention of potential customers.
