Trying to collaborate with AMD, Apple continues to contract Samsung to manufacture the A7 chip

Very shortly after the launch iPhone 5S it was found out that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), still has a strong collaboration, with Samsung, the Koreans manufacturing the chip A7 which can be found inside the new terminal, but also inside iPad Air or iPad Mini with Retina Display. Today a publication from Japan confirm again the close collaboration between the two companies, Samsung producing the chip A7 using a 28 nm manufacturing process, much more efficient than the 32 nm one used last year in the case of the A6 chip.

However, despite this continuous collaboration with the Koreans, those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), tries to distance himself from them, again TSMC is the first company that managed to contract orders from Cupertino for the manufacture of chips for iDevices. Apart from them, the Americans are also looking to collaborate with Globalfoundries, a subsidiary AMD specialized in chip manufacturing. If TSMC could produce part of the A2014 chips in 8, nothing is known about the AMD subsidiary, but Apple is trying hard to find alternatives for Samsung and will eventually succeed.
