A major new country is forcing Apple to revise its warranty policy for its own products

In the last year several countries and NGOs tried to force the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to modify its strategy regarding offering a guarantee for its own products in Europe and some countries have succeeded in forcing the Americans to comply with the law. Considering the success of the Europeans, the Australians decided to force hand of the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to comply with the law, to offer correct terms for the granting of guarantees, and it seems that they have succeeded. The Apple company agreed to comply with the legislation regarding the granting of guarantees, moreover, it promised to train its employees on the regulations, to publish an announcement on its website and to review the cases regarding the cancellation of the customer's guarantees in the past.

According to the agreement made with the Australian government, Apple will check in the next 3 months all rejected requests for guaranteeing its products and will resolve them according to the law. The measure is unique in a change of this kind for the Apple company and it will probably motivate other countries to act in a similar way to ensure that Americans play by national "rules" and not by their own. Unfortunately, exactly the same thing happens in Romania, Apple products benefiting only from the 1-year warranty offered by Apple and not from the 2-year warranty imposed by European legislation.
