I told you in the morning that in the frame CES 2014 was presented Parrot Jumping Sumo, but this is not the only product prepared by the French company Parrot for 2014. Together with jumping sumo, those from Parrot they presented inclusive Mini Drones, a miniature quadcopter that can be controlled using a iPhone. Made based on the experience with AR Drone, Parrot MiniDrone it is practically a miniature version of the old product, working on the same principles, but with much smaller dimensions, being easier to control and easier to sneak around the house.

Unlike the AR Drone, Parrot MiniDrone it has an internal computer that stabilizes the drone in situations where the user loses control. We still have the possibility to control the quadcopter using an iPhone application, we have a set of virtual buttons that allow control of direction and altitude, we can use the accelerometer for the same functions, but things are different now. By releasing all the buttons of the application, we will activate a system that will stabilize the drone, and with the help of the computer, it will take care of stabilizing itself even in the moments when we can no longer do it, so in total we are talking about a safety system designed to protect the product of accidents.

In order to improve safety, Parrot has equipped the MiniDrone with a pair of wheels that protect it from objects around it, but this system includes an accelerometer, a gyroscope and an ultrasonic sensor. The MiniDrone has a camera located on the back that helps it maintain its altitude, and the autonomy remains only 6-7 minutes in the case of a full charge. Being able to be used at a maximum distance of approximately 50 meters, the MiniDrone will be available in stores this year, but for now it is not known at what price.
