Here's how you can protect an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch using a complex security code

If you used a iPhone for a while, then you know that iOS allows you to set a security code consisting of 4 digits that allows securing the terminal in order to prevent access to data by people you do not know. Although the 4-digit security codes are safe, there are people who want more, and the company is for them Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), designed a system that allows choosing a complex combination of letters, numbers and characters to secure the terminals.

If you didn't know how to set one up until now pass code/security code for your iDevice, well today you will learn. Navigating in iOS to Settings>General Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode, you can choose the option Turn Passcode On to set a security code. iOS will ask you to choose a 4-digit code for the terminal, and you will have to set it to proceed to the next step. After setting the code, you will have the option displayed in the same menu simple Passcode which you will have to deactivate by simply pressing the button to its right.

At the moment of pressing you will have to enter the previously set 4-digit security code, then by pressing the Next button you will have the opportunity to set a complex one made up of letters/numbers/characters, or just one of these 3 categories. Setting a complex security code requires remembering all the characters used and prevents anyone from accessing your device if they don't know it, hackers having an extremely close to impossible mission in an attempt to "break" it.

If you still forget the security code, the terminal may freeze after a few wrong entries and you will have to restore it, losing the data that is not saved through iCloud or an iTunes backup.
