iPhone 4S records record sales for Apple, here is the average selling price of an iPhone

iPhone 4S is a smartphone launched in 2011, having been available on the market for more than two and a half years, its popularity being greater than that of the recently launched iPhone 5C. According to some information delivered during this day by a global smartphone market analysis company, iPhone 4S would have represented 25% of the total sales of iPhones in Q1 2014.

Given that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), sold 43.7 million iPhones in these three months of the beginning of the year, it seems iPhone 4S would have totaled more than 10 million of these terminals. The figure is impressive because we are talking about an old terminal, which theoretically should no longer be attractive, generating sales 6 times higher than iPhone 5C, this terminal representing 4% of sales, or 1.6 million units.

Separate from the sales information, the agency also presents a comparison between the selling price of iPhones and production costs, the final result being an average selling price of $596 for an iPhone. The prices are calculated for the USA, so they are much lower than the real ones, but based on them we can conclude that Apple collected at least 26 billion dollars from iPhone sales.

If we think that Apple collected 43.6 billion dollars in Q1 2014 from sales and at least 26 of these were generated by the iPhone line alone, then we see again how important this product is for Americans.
