LG destroys the theory behind Retina Displays

LG G3 was also presented during this evening by the company LG, during the presentation conference, some comparisons of the competitors' screens and the quality offered by them were also prepared. Those from LG criticized the marketing behind it Retina Displays in iPhone-s, saying that people look at the screens of mobile terminals wrongly, believing that the differences in terms of image quality will not be noticed in the case of smartphones that have screens with over 300 pixels per inch.

There's one common misunderstanding within the smartphone industry. There is a misconception that the human eye can only distinguish differences in display quality up to around 300 pixels per inch. However, this is not the case. The human eye can in fact discern differences in display quality above this measure and this is a fact that's already understood in the printing industry.

Of course, the marketing done by Steve Jobs for iPhone 4, in 2010 the former CEO of Apple saying that the human eye cannot distinguish more than 300 pixels per inch. Launching a smartphone with 538 pixels per inchThose from LG they tried through some comparisons to prove the exact opposite, arguing that the screen LG G3 presents the clearest images thanks to the high pixel density.

Today what they consider the best print quality is what LG has achieved with the introduction of its first Quad HD display, as seen in the G3.  If it were true that the human eye could only discern differences in display quality up to a maximum of 300ppi, then you wouldn't be able to notice these differences in clarity and sharpness between the images shown.

Although we are still talking about a smart way to present things, the reality is that screens with pixel density higher than 300 ppi have sharper images and Apple knows this. In this idea, the American company could grow resolution iPhone 6 at 1704 x 960 pixels to increase the number of pixels per inch to over 400, but it will not come too close to the LG G3.
