The head of the Android division mocks Tim Cook

Sundar Pichai is the head of the division Android from within the company Google, and in a recent interview given to Businessweek he spoke including about some statements made by Tim Cook. For starters he says that Androidis the operating system with the fastest adoption rate in history, the statement coming on the basis of his statements Tim Cook who claimed that more and more terminal owners Android I'm switching to iPhone.

Every piece of data I look at tells me that people are adopting Android at a faster pace than any other operating system. We are doing remarkably well... They run a great show. I take it for the value of the show... Do I worry about what they are doing? Yes. They are a great company. I think they are building a very good product and it's vertically integrated, which helps them do certain things faster.

Clarifying this "problem", Pichai continues by attacking a statement made by Tim Cook who claimed that Android is a toxic operating system. Giving an elegant answer, Pichai claims that it is much simpler for Apple to create products and an operating system controlling the entire production process and the components implemented in terminals, while Android must be thought of for a diversity of configurations.

It must be liberating [for Apple] to wake up and think about your device, your software, and hey, 'I can even call the chipset guys and say what the chip should be. I have to think about building a platform and bringing as many people along on this journey and getting it right. I believe that ultimately it's a more powerful approach, but it's a lot more stressful as well.

Moving on, Pichai talks about Android security and malware attacks against the platform, and if you're interested in everything, you can read the entire interview.
