Since July 2014, Romtelecom offers its Internet customers free access to over 13 million WiFi access points around the world, through the Fon option, at no additional cost. To benefit from access, customers must, in turn, allow access to their own Romtelecom WiFi connection.
Through the Fon international public network, Romtelecom's Internet customers benefit from free Internet access in millions of locations around the world, at no additional cost. The Fon option, which can be activated upon request and for existing customers of the company, is available to Romtelecom subscribers who own a Huawei HG 658 router, which allows sharing access to their own WiFi connection at home.

With the Fon option, Romtelecom customers can surf the Internet, access e-mail or social networks from any device (laptop / smartphone / tablet) in more than 13 million locations around the world. Access data is available to users in the account of My Account of each subscriber, after he gives his consent to open access to his own connection. The Internet in the Fon network can be accessed with any device connected to FonSpot via WiFi, by opening the browser and entering personal authentication data. Smartphone or tablet users have at their disposal the Fon application, which can be downloaded for free from AppStore or Google Play. Every time the application detects a FonSpot, it will automatically connect the client to the Internet.
Romtelecom customers can activate or deactivate the FON option at any time, whenever they consider it necessary, without additional costs, through their own account My Account or by calling 1930 (free call in the Romtelecom network).
