During the day yesterday TSAor Transportation Security Administration, published a press release announcing travelers arriving in the US that they will not be allowed access with electronic devices that cannot be turned on. Specifically, if you have any kind of electronic product downloaded or defective, this is going to be retained by the American authorities, otherwise you will not be allowed access to the country.
As the traveling public knows, all electronic devices are screened by security officers. During the security examination, officers may also ask that owners power up some devices, including cell phones. Powerless devices will not be allowed on board the aircraft. The traveler may also undergo additional screening.
Only passengers visiting the US from certain locations around the globe have to comply with this decision, but the TSA did not provide details about those locations. The measure comes as a response to the discovery of information that electronic devices can be used to hide small bombs, so that passengers with inactive terminals will not be able to enter the US with them in their possession.
