Apple – cause of LIVE stream failure

If you tried to view last night live the broadcast of the presentation conference a iPhone 6 si 6 iPhone Plus, you probably encountered various moments of frustration when you realized that instead of viewing the new iPhones, you see the image above. Unfortunately Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it wasn't prepared to support live video streaming for probably millions or tens of millions of people who were interested in seeing what the company was going to present.

The bottom line with this event is that the encoding, translation, JavaScript code, the video player, the call to S3 single storage location and the millisecond refreshes all didn't work properly together and was the root cause of Apple's failed attempt to make the live stream work without any problems. So while it would be easy to say it was a CDN capacity issue, which was my initial thought considering how many events are taking place today and this week, it does not appear that a lack of capacity played any part in the event not working properly. Apple simply didn't provision and plan for the event properly.

Above you have a possible explanation for the problems the company had Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to keep the video stream active during the conference, but even if Apple explains everything in a press release, the shame will remain. Apple promoted this event all over the world, piqued the interest of a huge number of people and the end result was the frustration of not seeing anything.
