iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus – Wi-Fi connection 3 times faster and Wi-Fi Calling!

In iPhone 6 si 6 iPhone Plus the Apple company has finally implemented Wi-Fi 802.11ac, a technology that Macs have had available for more than half a year. The hardware upgrade for the two terminals will bring speed for users Wi-Fi up to 3 times higher than in the case of using a connection Wi-Fi 802.11n, and basically we are talking about transfer speeds of over 433 Mbps with compatible routers.

With new support for 802.11ac, you'll experience up to 3x faster Wi‑Fi than with 802.11n. iPhone 6 lets you initiate calls over Wi‑Fi using your own phone number. Which helps when you don't have a good cellular signal. And once you go out of range of your Wi‑Fi connection, your call can seamlessly transition to VoLTE. So when you're going from your house to your car to your office, your call switches over without any interruption.

Separate from the new Wi-Fi technology, the Apple company has officially launched support for Wi-Fi Calling with compatible mobile phone operators. Unfortunately the function Wi-Fi Calling it cannot work without the support of mobile phone operators, so in the US for now only those from T-Mobile can use it at the moment. In Romania, no mobile operator has yet announced its intention to offer this functionality, free or paid, for its customers, but anything is possible until the fall.
