Apple Pay also works outside the US

The release of iOS 8.1 brought the Apple Pay system for iPhone 6 and 6 iPhone Plus, allowing mobile payments to be made at any stores that have compatible POS, but only using credit cards from banks that have signed collaboration commitments with Apple. At the moment any PayPass or payWave POS can register mobile payments via the Apple Pay system anywhere in the world, the problem is that a credit card from an Apple partner must be used to authorize the payment.

Apple Pay works anywhere there are existing PayPass or payWave terminals – and in Australia we've got plenty of them... While Apple restricts cards to US issued cards, they do work with Apple Pay just fine elsewhere.

According to the beaugil.es website, Americans in Australia can make mobile payments using credit cards issued by US banks, a POS like the ones mentioned above being required to register the payment at merchants. Apple has not specified the types of POS that are compatible with Apple Pay, but only provided lists of merchants where payments can be made without problems, so it remains for users to test the system in various locations to find out where it is possible to pay with him.

Since special POSs are not required, as originally thought, with a US card anyone can perform payments via Apple Pay including in Romania as long as he has a card issued by a US bank. Given that there are two types of POS in our country, the simple conclusion of agreements between Apple and our banks will allow the use of the system.
