The police in Russia offer impressive sums to buy products that allow "breaking" iPhones

Although at the moment there are multiple jailbreak solutions for iOS that allow "breaking" any iPhone terminals, Russia is willing to pay an impressive amount of money for software that allows the exploitation of terminals.

According a local publication, the police in Russia is willing to offer up to 37.000 dollars to any companies or people who can provide them with software or gadgets that can break iPhone terminals at any time. The Russian police claim that the equipment is needed in the forensic laboratory to obtain data from the iPhones of the investigated criminals, the product having to guarantee the "breaking" of the terminals in any kind of conditions, regardless of the iOS version installed.

"If Apple products were to be used to commit crimes, this equipment would help experts to search such a device for information pertaining to a criminal investigation," police spokesperson Nina Pelevina told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.

The police in Russia did not want to explain the reasons on the basis of which they offer this amount of money only to exploit the products of the Apple company, but probably the new security measures implemented in iOS prevent it from obtaining unrestricted access to data. In general, government or police agencies spend thousands of dollars on programs of this kind, but they are based on exploits similar to those used in jailbreak solutions, so they are temporary.
