Apple Watch goes into production in January

Apple Watch launch

Apple Watch, the first smartwatch produced by the Apple company, is announced for release at the beginning of next year, but before it reaches the market, Apple's partners must start production of the future product. According to the latest information published by a Taiwanese news agency, Apple's partner, Quanta, will begin mass production of Apple Watch starting with January, between three and five million units will be manufactured.

The main problem of the Apple Watch was the low daily production rate, however It seems that partner Quanta has hired between 3.000 and 10.000 new people and perfected the manufacturing process, so that it will be able to produce enough units daily to satisfy Apple's demand. Apple has never made any reference regarding the period in which the Apple Watch will be launched, but the SVP of the retail division, Angela Ahrentds, argued in an internal memo that it will be available from spring.

With estimates that 10% of iDevice users would be interested in the Apple Watch and the growing interest vis-à-vis smartwatches, the Apple company is preparing to bring to the market a product that could generate billions of dollars annually. The problem for Apple is, of course, manufacturing enough units to meet market demand, so it remains to be seen whether Quanta will have enough resources to produce the Apple Watch.
