Here are the most downloaded applications of 2014

  During the last night the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), published a list of the most downloaded applications of 2014, revealing what were the preferences of the users. The list covers only the applications available in the US App Store, so it does not seem to be a global one and for Romania there is currently no top of this kind.

  Apple divided its apps section into three categories: the most downloaded free apps, the most downloaded paid apps, and the apps that generated the most money. As it was probably expected for some, Facebook Messenger was the most downloaded application in 2014 in the US, followed by Snapchat and YouTube or Facebook.

  In terms of paid applications, the game Heads Up! occupied the first position, followed by Minecraft and Afterlight, the only well-known title in the top 10 being Cut the Rope 2. Practically, the majority of the top is made up of games without much popularity in Romania, for example, but extremely well-known in the USA.

The games placed on the first positions generate up to several tens of millions of dollars per month, so we are talking about extremely profitable applications.
