Annually, the mobile terminal market analysis agency, Nielsen, publishes various studies on the degree of use of these products, but also of the applications dedicated to them. For 2014 them they published a top of the most used applications from the USA on active mobile terminals there, and in the image above you have a graph showing the number of unique users.
On the first position is, of course, Facebook with 118 million users, in second place Google Search with 90 million users, in 3rd place YouTube with 88 million users, in 4th place Google Play with 84 million users, and in 5th place Google Maps with 79 million users. On 6 we find gmail with 72 million users, Facebook Messenger with 53 million users, Google+ with 48 million users, Instagram with 43 million users and the application Music of iOS with 42 million users.
These data show us that approximately 10% of the total number of Facebook Messenger users comes from the USA, but what is interesting is the lack of the application WhatsApp Messenger. In another vein, Facebook has 3 applications in the top, Google 6 applications, and Apple only one, the three companies being the only ones from the US, or from the world, represented in this top with any application.
Bonus for all this, we also have a graph in which the main operating systems for mobile terminals and their market shares in the US are presented. iOS is only 9 percent behind Android, and probably these numbers will change slightly in favor of Apple's operating system after strong sales during the Christmas period.
