CES 2015: Helios – the solar charger that promises to charge an iPhone in 90 minutes

Helios solar charger CES 2015

Helios is a new solar charger that made its way through the multitude of wearables presented at CES 2015, promising to charge an iPhone terminal in just 90 minutes using the sun's radiation. Although there are many solar chargers on the market, Helios promises to charge mobile terminals up to 4 times faster than any other traditional solution.

Without providing details for his claims, the company behind it Helios claims that its product can charge up to two devices simultaneously. Charging in 90 minutes is done for, apparently, almost any smartphone, but probably those with more than 2000 mAh will not have such a fast charging of the battery under any conditions.

In this idea, even if the sunlight is not strong, charging will probably not be as fast, even if the technology promises a lot. Helios it has an external battery included and can also be charged from an outlet using a charger and a USB cable, so you won't go out into nature without having at least one or more charges available.

For now, it is not known when Helios will be launched, or at what price, but it could be just one of the solar charging products that could become really useful.
