CES 2015: WattUp charges electronic products at a maximum distance of 7 meters, it is controlled by the iPad

WattUp CES 2015

WattUp is a product presented in the framework CES 2015 by an American company, he using a patent-pending technology that allows charging electronic products from a distance. The product can be interconnected and controlled by an iPad tablet to allow charging, it identifies all electronic devices using Bluetooth 4.0 to start charging.

After identifying these electronic products, WattUp can upload them with a distance of up to 7 meters using radio signals that are transformed into an electric circuit. This transformation is possible with the help of a chip implemented in the products that interconnect with the WhattUp system, so not every kind of electronic object around you can be charged.

WattUp […] works using a mix of RF, Bluetooth and a lot of patent-pending technology. The transmitter is where most of the magic happens. It communicates with and locates compatible devices using low-energy Bluetooth. Once they've established contact with a device, they send out focused RF signals on the same bands as WiFi that are then absorbed and converted into DC power by a tiny chip embedded in the device. These transmitters can be built into household appliances, TVs, speakers and standalone "energy routers."

WhattUp loads electronic products remotely

WhattUp it looks like an ordinary router, but it contains all the previously mentioned technology, and through an application installed on the iPad, it allows the control of the energy flow to the devices. Moreover, the device is intelligent enough to control the flow by itself so that the terminals with less battery available get the fastest charge.

Using WhattUp you can charge any electronic object from a mobile phone to a TV or a set of speakers, but they need the company's technology implemented. In the case of smartphones, a simple case solves the problem, but this means that it must be permanently attached to the terminal, otherwise charging will no longer take place.

For now, it is not known when WattUp will be launched or how much it will cost, but I will return with details as they become available.
