Romania is one of the European countries where internet traffic generated using mobile terminals has grown substantially in recent years. The increase is due to the sale of an increasing number of smartphones and tablets in our country, and according to recent statistics, 9% of the internet traffic generated in Romania comes from mobile terminals.
5% of the traffic is generated by smartphones and 4% of it is generated by tablets, so we are talking about a fairly equivalent distribution. As for the tablets, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is king, 71% of the total internet traffic generated on tablets being made by iPad, the percentage decreasing by 8% in the last year and a half due to the increase in sales of tablets Samsung.
As for smartphones, Samsung owns the first position with 45%, iPhone- the Apple company being responsible for 27% of the total traffic. This difference is normal in the conditions where Samsung terminals enjoy greater use due to the fact that they are cheaper and available in multiple models.
The statistics are collected from the internet traffic generated in Central and Eastern Europe through the network of the agency that provides the data, monitoring an extremely diverse range of websites. In this idea, we can see that iDevices are starting to be overtaken by Samsung in terms of internet browsing in Romania and this was to be expected.
If in the case of tablets ASUS is the second largest manufacturer in the top after Apple and Samsung, in the case of smartphones Nokia occupies a third position. The presence of the terminals now owned by Microsoft at the top is surprising, especially since they have had increasingly weak sales in the recent period.
