Apple increases the prices of applications, here is how much they cost starting today!

App Store application wall

I told you the other day that Apple will apply a double increase for the prices charged for applications sold in the App Store, and starting today they are valid. Company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has substantially increased, in certain cases, the prices of its applications, and in general we are talking about an increase of up to 10% for cheap titles and about a higher increase for more expensive applications.

Starting today, any application sent for sale in the App Store will cost a minimum of €0.99, just like in the past, but the differences only appear from the next price threshold. Apple has replaced the price of €1.79 with €1.99, €2.69 with €2.99, €3.59 with €3.99, €4.49 with €4.99 and the list continues at the same pace up to 999.99 €.

Here's how much the App Store applications have become more expensive

In general, the Apple company has completely eliminated intermediate prices and any application sold will cost either €0.99 or any other higher value, but with €.99 in the queue. In this idea, we are talking about increases of a few tens of cents in the case of applications that cost more than 4 euros, and this represents a major change, mainly for developers.

At the moment, an app developer from Romania will charge €0.56 for a €0.99 app, €1.10 for a €1.99 app, €1.73 for a €2.99 app, €2.31 for a €3.99 app, €2.89 for a €4.99 app, €3.47 for a €5.99 app, so Apple retains a generous commission, plus the 24% VAT applied in Romania.

In this idea, the development of applications for App Store Romania is far from being a profitable business, given that Romanians do not buy applications for terminals. Of course, an increase in the prices of applications will do nothing but push even more iDevice owners towards hacking applications, and this in the conditions where we have a solution 8.1.2 iOS jailbreak available to us.
