Apple is investing more and more money to lobby in Washington

Apple lobby

Apple is one of the American IT companies that does not invest colossal sums of money in lobbying for the US senate and congress, but since 2013 it has increased its quotas allocated to this process. In 2013 Apple invested 3.5 million dollars to lobby, and until September 2014 he invested 2.9 million dollars, so that for the whole year 2014 the amount could reach almost 3 million dollars.

Until the launch of the first model of the iPhone, Apple invested up to 1 million dollars to lobby in Washington, but the accelerated growth in sales forced it to get involved in the decision-making process in the American Congress and Senate. In this idea, Apple hired companies specializing in lobbying to support its interests in the US capital, and this probably contributed to the creation of favorable legislation.

Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr is the company that represents Apple's interests in the US and separately from it, Tim Cook had numerous meetings with senators or members of the American Congress, but even with President Barack Obama. Although Microsoft invests twice as much as Apple, and Google 4 times more, the company from Cupertino does not seem willing to increase its investments to such a level.
