Orange Skanska is the name of the new headquarters in which Orange Romania moved no less than 1630 of its own employees from Bucharest, they started working in the new location in October of last year. The move to Orange Skanska was mainly thought to make the interaction between the company's employees more efficient, an 8% reduction in total operating costs was also achieved.
Orange Skanska is a building that for Orange offers 13.700 m² on 8 floors with dedicated spaces for telephone conversations, meetings, socializing areas and spaces for dedicated employee training. In practice, Orange managed to obtain in one building the necessary space to move employees from three other buildings, making the way of working in the team more efficient and offering a simpler method of interaction between employees and management.
Energy efficiency and increased comfort for employees
In all these spaces, Oange Romania created a "green" environment with hundreds of plants and aquariums with over 1500 fish, but energy efficiency was one of the main points of interest in the move. In this idea, the facade of the building was built to be energy efficient, the building having an increased supply of clean air, being 30% above local standards.
The internal lighting systems are equipped with presence and intensity sensors that control the way the bulbs inside are activated, and for those with electric cars there are also charging stations. Apart from these, the building has an intelligent cooling system, so that in winter the cold air is used to cool the interior spaces that require a low temperature.
From the teams that answer your phone when you have a problem, to those that make offers for subscriptions, prepaid cards, or the Orange Skansa management team now includes half of Orange Romania's employees. An efficient, pleasant, but also healthy workspace was created for all 1630 employees, some of the building's functions being controlled even using smart gadgets.
Orange Romania did not disclose the amount invested in this move, but since the total costs of renting office space for employees decreased by 8%, the investment will probably be recovered.
