Apple Watch - details about the price and the initial stock

Apple Watch first game

In the morning I found out a multitude of new details about Apple Watch, including the fact that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was forced to give up some of the product's functions for various reasons. This morning I found out that Apple would have ordered 5-6 million units Apple Watch for the official launch of the product, the figure being much lower than those 26 million expected for sale in 2015. Despite this, some are optimistic about the success of the product on the market, Apple preparing a moderate initial stock to be sure that it does not remain with unsold products, the production will increase according to the needs.

According to the sources that provided this information, we also learn what the price threshold that Apple intends to apply for the expensive model of Apple Watch. If the basic version of the watch will cost $350 and for now we don't know how much the middle version will cost, it seems that the gold version will have a starting price of $4000. This price places the gold Apple Watch in the first position in the list of the most expensive Apple products, it costs even more than a Mac Pro dedicated to professionals who do photo/video editing.

Apple would intend to make approximately 1 million Apple Watch-s in gold every month of the second part of 2015, so in total it hopes to sell over 6 million models of this kind throughout the year. Making a simple calculation, we find that Apple hopes to obtain 6 billion dollars only from the sales of the gold Apple Watches, combining them with the sales of the other versions. Apple's plans are great, but I find it hard to believe that so many millions of gold watches will be sold by the company all over the world, despite the great potential of the brand and the product.

  1. I think that the basic apple watch would be ok to start at a price of 200€/$. At 350 starting price, it seems a bit peppery to me, but it's only a long time until they are released on the market and then we can discuss the topic.
