Apple requires the switch to ARC for OS X applications

Mac applications

During the last night the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), announced an important change for application developers for the Mac App Store, who are forced to change the way they develop their creations. According to those in Cupertino, application developers are now obliged to abandon the garbage collection system in favor of the ARC system for all applications sent for publication in App Store after May 1. The change does not come suddenly from the Apple company, those from Cupertino announcing its developers many months ago that switching to this system will be mandatory in the future.

The garbage collection system became undesirable starting with OS X 10.8, so a year and a half ago, Apple replaced it with the ARC system, designed for OS X 10.7. According to the changes imposed by the Apple company, both new applications and those updated and sent for publication after May 1 must contain the change, otherwise they will not appear in the App Store. Having said that, the change is intended to improve the functionality and performance of the applications, reducing the development time, and it will make its presence felt from May.
