Apple is the largest seller of 4G smartphones

Apple 4G smartphone sales

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), sold in Q4 2014 over 70 million iPhones worldwide, and most of them were the latest models released in the last 3 years, iPhone 4S representing a small percentage of the total. Considering that, except iPhone 4S, all other iPhones in the offer Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), are compatible with networks 4G, Apple remained the largest smartphone seller in Q4 2014 4G. In the image above you have the results of a study published these days by Counterpoint, showing us that Apple represented 35% of the total sales of 4G smartphones.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was followed by Samsung with 19% of 4G smartphone sales, Huawei occupying the third position with 7%, Lenovo the fourth with 5%, LG si Xiaomi dividing the 5th position by 4%. The remaining 26% of the total is represented by other smartphone manufacturers around the world, and there we find HTC, Sony, Motorola or Microsoft, companies with immense prestige. Despite the past of these companies, it seems that they are not able to convince enough customers like their smartphones 4G worth buying at the moment, so that other Asian manufacturers take their places in the top.

The interesting part of this study is that more 4G smartphones were sold in China in Q2014 4 than in the US, thanks to small local manufacturers. 4G smartphones can cost up to $200 in China without a mobile phone subscription, so the interest in buying them is much higher, and hence the superiority over the USA.
