iOS 7 was released with a redesigned design for the Apple Watch

iOS 7

In 2013 the Apple company launched iOS 7 with a major design change that displeased a multitude of iDevice owners, the American company abandoning the "skeumorphism" of Scott Forstall in favor of a "flat" design conceived under the guidance of Jony Ive. Many have wondered why Apple did it a change so radical for the operating system dedicated to iDevices, and now we find out that everything has to do with Apple Watch, a project that Jony Ive closely supervised and for which he created the design of the products, he was also involved in the creation process of the operating system interface.

The flattening of Apple's user interface that began in iOS 7 was as much a strategic move as an aesthetic one. iOS 6-style skeuomorphism would've felt downright gauche on the watch.

Basically, Apple needed an interface that would make reading information on the Apple Watch much easier and it achieved this through a complete change implemented in the interface of the iOS operating system, everything being thought in advance, especially since the Apple Watch is in the development process since 2011.
