Apple is building an ultra-modern headquarters in Yokohama

Apple headquarters Yokohama

Just a few weeks ago we told you that Apple will build a research and development center in Japan to develop future technologies for its products, and today we also have a first image of the ultra-modern building that those from Cupertino will pick up there for their own employees. According to a local publication, the Apple company would have bought the location of a former Panasonic factory on the outskirts of the city of Yokomaha, where those from Cupertino intend to build a building that will occupy 25.000 square meters and will have a final height of 4 floors, several hundred employees going to work in it.

The building will use renewable technology, recycled water and it should have trees planted on the roof, those from Apple intending to start production by the end of this year and complete it by the beginning of 2017 to be able to initiate their research and development projects in the country. Although the Apple company already has several research and development centers in Asia, the one in Japan is located near a city with 3.7 million inhabitants and probably the American company wants to have headquarters in the countries of some of its important partners, such as Sony or Japan Display.

Apple will build this research and development center in parallel with Apple Campus 2, in both cases it is about large buildings in which Apple will invest several billion dollars in the next period.
