Providing a curiously accurate figure, an American company claims that 957,000 units were pre-ordered from the US alone, and looking at the global figures we are talking about half of the total number of units ordered in the 9 countries where the watch became available for users.

  As expected, over two-thirds of US customers bought 42mm Apple Watch Sport, the model with the space gray case, being the most popular on the day of launch, this being easy to predict. Moving on, it seems that 40% of the pre-orders were for Apple Watch Sport space gray aluminum, 34% for Apple Watch in stainless steel silver colored, 23% for the silver aluminum Apple Watch Sport, and finally 3% of the orders remain for the black stainless steel Apple Watch.

Slice Intelligence estimates that 957,000 people in the US pre-ordered an Apple Watch on Friday, the first day the watch was available for sale. According to receipt data from 9,080 online shoppers, each Apple Watch buyer ordered an average of 1.3 watches, spending $503.83 per watch. Those ordering an Apple Watch Sport spent $382.83 per watch and those ordering the Apple Watch spent $707.04.

  Regarding the accessories, the black Sport bracelet would have recorded 28% of sales, the Milanese bracelet following it with 25% of sales, the Link one with 14%, the classic black buckle with 12% and the white Sport one with 8% of sales.
